Privacy Policy - Menopause
Last updated: June 26, 2026
Menopause is built privacy-first. It helps you track menopause and perimenopause symptoms, hot flashes, sleep, mood, HRT, medications, health records, Maya companion support, and doctor-ready reports.
Who we are (data controller)
The data controller for backend privacy requests is Gracious Ikhine, Tisina 3g, 9251 Tisina, Slovenia (EU). Privacy and data-rights contact: graciousvictorious@gmail.com.
The short version
- The app uses Sign in with Apple as a one-time launch gate.
- Health information stays on your device unless you choose an optional AI feature that sends reviewed content for that feature.
- We do not sell data, run ads, or track you across apps.
- Optional AI features send only the specific content needed for the feature, after explicit consent.
Data stored on your device
The app stores symptoms, hot flashes, sleep, mood, period/bleeding logs, HRT and medication reminders, medication events, saved health-record explanations, Maya companion messages, consent records, onboarding profile details, saved Maya memory items, app-lock settings, and the local Sign in with Apple gate identity locally on your device.
Signing in
Sign in with Apple is used to open the app and help Apple satisfy account access expectations. We store the opaque Apple user identifier locally in your device Keychain. We do not run a server-side health account for this app, and your health logs are not sent to us because you signed in.
When data leaves your device
- Health Record Explainer: after you review and confirm scanned text, the confirmed text is sent over HTTPS to our backend to generate a plain-language explanation. Photos and unconfirmed OCR text stay on device.
- Medication tidy-up: if you opt in, confirmed medication-label text can be sent to structure fields like name, dose text, and frequency. It does not give dosing advice.
- Maya companion support: if you opt in, each request sends your message, recent chat context, an anonymous install identifier, and the minimum context needed for the answer. When personalization is enabled, that can include profile details, a short log summary, and saved Maya memory items you accepted, so Maya can answer in context.
- Referral attribution: if you use a creator code and subscribe, an anonymous creator-code event can be sent so the creator can be credited.
- Abuse prevention: App Attest may send device-integrity metadata so the backend can protect AI, referral, and purchase-notification endpoints.
- Purchases: subscriptions are handled by Apple StoreKit. We do not receive your payment-card details. StoreKit and backend purchase-notification metadata can be associated with the app instance for entitlement, restore, and referral functionality.
AI and medical safety
AI responses are for general education, reflection, and preparing questions for a clinician. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, prescriptions, or dose changes. For urgent or serious symptoms, contact your doctor or local emergency number.
Retention and deletion
On-device data remains until you delete it. The app includes Settings controls to export local data as JSON and delete app data, including logs, saved explanations, Maya messages, reminders, consent records, profile settings, app-lock settings, saved memory context, and the local Sign in with Apple gate identity. Apple's separate "Stop Using Apple ID" control remains available in your Apple Account settings.
Sub-processors
Optional backend features may use Apple for Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, and App Attest; Vercel for backend hosting and AI Gateway routing; AI model providers reached through Vercel AI Gateway; and Neon for anonymous referral attribution and operational entitlement records. AI requests are intended to use Zero-Data-Retention where configured.
Your rights
You control local data directly on your device. You can export your data, delete all data, stop using AI features, and contact the developer for privacy questions or data-rights requests.
